the rains have wreaked widespread devastation in the Saharawi refugee camps in SW Algeria

Non-stop torrential rains since Oct 17th have wreaked widespread devastation in the Saharawi refugee camps in SW Algeria. Large sections of the five camps, where an estimated 165,000 refugees live, have been reduced to rubble and mayhem. Over 3000 tents and mud homes have been destroyed.
Despite lack of media coverage this crisis is very serious. Over 25000 Saharawis are now homeless and lost all they have. Hospitals and schools have had to close due to threat of collapsing walls. Most of the food aid reserves, on which the refugees are dependent for their survival, have been ruined by the floods. Thousands of refugees are now in urgent need of food, clean water, blankets, tents and clothes. Materials are needed to rebuild the camps as soon as possible. Your donations can make a huge difference.
