Sahrawi was detained for atending a youth festival in South Africa

The young Saharawi activists Mariam Lebsir and Kaltoum Lbourhimi were detained at the airport of Casablanca on December 26, 2010 at their arrival to the airport.The Saharawi activists attended an International Festival of Youth and Students held in South Africa the previous couple of weeks.The two Saharawi women were subjected to harsh interrogations, threats and abuse by the Moroccan police, at both the police station in Casablanca/Morocco and by the Gendarmerie in Aaiun/Western Sahara.Wednesday December 29, 2010, they were submitted to the Attorney General of the courts of appeal in Aaiun/occupied territories and placed on probation until March 24, 2011.They were accused of the events of the camp Gdeim Izik and for demonstrations in Aaiun.
